Lisa’s List of Services
Educational Landscape Consultations/Landscape Coaching: Here is an area of some confusion and I want to be very clear..EVERYONE WHO OWNS A HOME SHOULD HAVE ONE OF THESE! An educational consultation with a trained, educated professional is an opportunity for you to discuss landscape problems, organic gardening, tree, shrub and plant care. Vegetable gardening, fruit tree care and selection, soil preparation, proper trimming techniques, necessary tools and so much more will be covered during a consult or garden coach session.
This is an excellent tool for the do-it-yourselfer or anyone wanting to bid out the work to be done. I am not there to sell you my services, I am there to train you to be a better steward of your land, which in turns makes you a smarter consumer and that saves you money.
It can also be used for a design session, I will ask for some basic measurements and light schedule and I will draw your beds out for you for one low price. This is perfect for people with small builders beds or spaces where the beds just need to be filled in. beds or give a list of plants to consider for your overall space. The sketch and key are very easy to follow and contain a list of plants. There is an additional fee for this service, generally not more than $150-$200 on top of the consult fee when needed.
I provide design influenced education, with a low water, low maintenance approach. An average consultation cost (depending on your area ) typically from $150 to $175 for the hour south and central, out of the greater Austin area to far north and west of Austin, Round Rock, Leander, Bastrop, Driftwood, Wimberly, Kyle, San Marcos and Buda. Greater distance is $175/200 per hour, cash or check. It’s just a distance thing…the good news is I will save you thousands in costly upsells and plant mistakes. I provide Landscape Consult/Garden Coach and Design services Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday morning appointments can be schedule for a premium of $25

Landscape Design: I am a Certified landscape designer, Master Gardener, artist. However, my best experience has been in the field. Just because someone knows design does not mean they know the plants they are using. I believe my greatest strength is my vast knowledge of plants in their habitat. You cannot design successfully if you do not know the growth habits of each plant you are using and that only comes from being a gardener. I have been a professional Personal Gardener as well as gardening in my own space for over 20 years in Central Texas and that experience has taught me that just because a plant looks good on paper does not mean it looks good 5 years from now in your garden. Spacial challenges, long-term light conditions, soil and water conditions all have to be considered as well as the care the owner wants to put into a bed. One of the most important qualities of a designer is to be a good listener, it is also important to be honest with the client to manage their expectations, and sometimes what they believe they want may not be what they need.
If you are not successful in your space I have not done my job correctly. I believe it is important to give you a design that suits your lifestyle and the time you have to manage it. Your garden should work for you, not the other way around. With your design you get a scaled drawing, an original and follow-up consultation, a full plant bid for installation and instruction for the do-it-yourselfer. Typical cost of a design for an “average” yard or space is between $750-$1750. I provide designs to the greater Austin area including Onion Creek, Buda, San Marcos, Wimberly, Bastrop, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Pflugerville and Round Rock. I look forward to hearing from you 🙂
Allow me to do the plant delivery and lay out for you so all you have to do is plant! I give you complete instruction and all the information you will need to have success with your new plants and landscape design.
Landscape Installation: After a Landscape Design or Educational Consultation, I can provide installation of my designs and concepts through trusted contractors I work with. I personally choose the trees and plants, I spray the beds with the chosen contractor and provide the plant layout by placing and spraying each plant and tree, then my contractor does the rest on my schedule, not theirs. There are no fees paid to me by the contractor or the home owner as my profit is in the plants. Plants are marked up 20% beyond retail and you will have my email and text for life. I do not guarantee my plants because I am not caring for them, but I will answer your questions forever.
PublicSpeaking and “Lunch and Learns”: I offer a number of training classes for all seasons and topics. In addition to being a Master Gardner and trained professional, I am certified in Oak Wilt Training and Water Conservation and specialize in native and adapted low water planting. If you or your organization is interested in having me as a speaker for parties of 15 or more, I offer this service for free in exchange for the opportunity to promote my services.
