Saving the Planet One Yard at a Time

Lisa’s List of Services

IMG_2880Educational Landscape Consultations/Landscape Coaching: Here is an area of some confusion and I want to be very clear..EVERYONE WHO OWNS A HOME SHOULD HAVE ONE OF THESE! An educational consultation with a trained, educated professional is an opportunity for you to discuss landscape problems, organic gardening, tree, shrub and plant care. Vegetable gardening, fruit tree care and selection, soil preparation, proper trimming techniques, necessary tools and so much more will be covered during a consult or garden coach session. It can also be used for a design session (typically two hours where the client and I draw out a quick sketch for a small space), fill in beds or give a list of plants to consider for your overall space. This is an excellent tool for the do-it-yourselfer or anyone wanting to bid out the work to be done. I am not there to sell you my services, I am there to train you to be a better steward of your land, which in turns makes you a smarter consumer and that saves you money.

I provide design influenced education with a low water, low maintenance approach. An average consultation cost (depending on your location), Buda and immediate area $100.00, Austin $125, to far north and west of Austin, Lakeway, Cedar Park and Leander, as well as Georgetown and Hutto at $150.00 per hour, it’s just a distance thing…the good news is I will save you thousands in mistakes. I provide Landscape Consult/Garden Coach and Design services Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday morning appointments can be schedule for a premium of $25

Landscape Design: I am a Certified landscape designer, Master Gardener, artist. However, my best experience has been in the field. Just because someone knows design does not mean they know the plants they are using. I believe my greatest strength is my vast knowledge of plants in their habitat. You cannot design successfully if you do not know the growth habits of each plant you are using and that only comes from being a gardener. I have been a professional Personal Gardener as well as gardening in my own space for over 20 years in Central Texas and that experience has taught me that just because a plant looks good on paper does not mean it looks good 5 years from now in your garden. Spacial challenges, long-term light conditions, soil and water conditions all have to be considered as well as the care the owner wants to put into a bed. One of the most important qualities of a designer is to be a good listener, it is also important to be honest with the client to manage their expectations, and sometimes what they believe they want may not be what they need.

If you are not successful in your space I have not done my job correctly. I believe it is important to give you a design that suits your lifestyle and the time you have to manage it. Your garden should work for you, not the other way around. With your design you get a scaled drawing, an original and follow-up consultation, a full plant bid for installation and instruction for the do-it-yourselfer. Typical cost of a design for an “average” yard or space is between $650-$1500. I provide designs to the greater Austin area including Onion Creek, Buda, San Marcos, Wimberly, Bastrop, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Pflugerville and Round Rock. I look forward to hearing from you 🙂

Landscape Layout/Plant Plopper service : *Please Note; LL&D no longer has our own crew for installation services, but I can provide a layout service for plant installation by either a trusted contractor of mine, someone you prefer to work with, or to do-it- yourself. This is an excellent accompaniment to our Consults/Garden Coach and Design services in the Austin and surrounding area and has been a hugely popular service. Minimum sale of $500 required, plus the cost of first consultation. Average plant cost is $12-14.50 per one gal and 35+ for 3 gallon and greater. Delivery fee included.

Landscape Installation: After a Landscape Design or Educational Consultation, I can provide installation of my designs and concepts through trusted contractors I work with. I personally choose the trees and plants, I spray the beds with the chosen contractor and provide the plant layout by placing and spraying each plant and tree, then my contractor does the rest on my schedule, not theirs. There are no fees paid to me by the contractor or the home owner as my profit is in the plants. Plants are marked up 20% beyond retail and you will have my email and text for life. I do not guarantee my plants because I am not caring for them, but I will answer your questions forever.

If you do not need plants or plan to install them yourself, my trusted teams can give you apples to apples bids on your project for you to compare with other vendors. My teams also provide continued service as I’ve educated them on organic protocols and general maintenance as well as stone work, hardscapes, fencing, patios and irrigation repair with installation. As your consultant I am also your fiduciary agent in all your transactions so it has to be a win-win and this keeps everyone working and out of your pocket when it’s not needed.
