Lisa’s Plant Pick of the Day- “Stone Crop/Sedum”

Today’s plant pick is Stone crop because it looks like such a unique plant in the garden, but I am a big fan of the Sedum family in general.  There are over 400 varieties and each unique but for the most part recognizable to the family.  These mostly flowering succulents are a great way to add interesting color and texture to the garden.  This full to part Sun plant is very drought tolerant and a native to Europe, it is an adapted plant for us.  The leaves of Stonecrop are edible and taste slightly astringent and sour.  It can also be used for scraps and burns making this plant not only lovely, but quite useful in the garden.

I realized in the video I said “Bumble Bee”, not “Honey Bee”, I have to say I am happy to see all of the many Honey Bees coming to spread the love in my yard!

Now go get your garden on!
